It's good to see articles on this topic. Having end-to-end real-time implementation experience, I think that in some cases the notion of real-time can be quite needlessly daunting for organisations that have organised themselves around offline capabilities.

The opportunities for real-time are far reaching and can go way beyond targeted marketing to CRM and can have a significant impact on many counts including automation, efficiency, timeliness, interactiveness, quality, flexibility and complexity.

Organisations that adopt real-time capabilities properly, will reap the rewards many times over and those that ignore it will continue to struggle with archaic processes that are slow, error prone and resource intensive.

Thanks for the post! It was very informative. However as per my point of view creativity is required to create and maintain any e-commercial portal. It should be simple, easy to understand and user friendly for the customers. That’s more important because it will save time of the user to find anything online..
Cheers,
Susan Smith.

Great article on SEO for e-commerce systems, and all sound advice without exception. One thing that struck me was to avoid using product descriptions from manufacturers - to avoid duplicate product issues. This is probably one of the toughest ones to pull off, for me. Most of my clients don't have time to write their own descriptions, especially if they have thousands of low value products, and more so if the products are transient in nature. That's a really tough one ....

I think this falls under invasion of privacy because Google is sumbitting a "cookie" when you click on the ads. Even though no personal information is taken, Google can still find out what items are interested by the IP Number. Google can then post ads to where this IP Number goes on the internet which increases the chance of more clicks for Google.
